Antique sampler: "C. Mathy 1878"
COUNTED CROSS STITCH CHART

This very refined antique sampler is a heirloom piece of needlework. It was stitched in 1878 by a young lady who signed her name, C. Mathy. She used a 33ct silk fabric canvas and silk thread. The motifs and colors used are very romantic and reflect the state of mind of young girls of the time.

Cross stitch this design on linen fabric, over two threads. The small alphabet at the bottom is stitched however over one thread and the pink alphabet is in backstitch.
